A measurement of a few millimetres
The nuchal translucency measurement behind a first trimester risk calculation is only a few millimetres across. A small error changes the result substantially.
That is why the Fetal Medicine Foundation in London sets an international standard for how it is taken, grants certification to individual practitioners only after they demonstrate measurement accuracy, and audits it on an ongoing basis.

Some scans need fasting, others need a full bladder— they are opposites, and getting it wrong usually means coming back another day.

When should an NT scan be done?
Between 11 weeks 0 days and 13 weeks 6 days of pregnancy. Outside this window the measurement cannot be taken reliably, so please book as soon as your doctor advises it.
What is FMF certification and why does it matter?
The Fetal Medicine Foundation in London sets the international standard for nuchal translucency measurement and first trimester screening. Certification is granted to individual practitioners, requires demonstrated measurement accuracy, and is audited. Dr. Ashwini Sindagi holds that certification, so your NT scan is performed to that standard.
What are your timings?
Monday to Saturday, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. On Sunday we see emergencies only, subject to availability.

Yes. Scans at our centre are performed and reported by Dr. Ashwini Sindagi, a female consultant radiologist specialising in fetal medicine and women's imaging.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-in patients are welcome for X-ray. Every other scan is by prior appointment, and patients are seen on a first come, first served basis. Please call us in advance so we can reserve a slot and explain the preparation.
